This rapid looks quite different nowadays with the Black Wattle cleared from its banks. The river slides over a large diagonal pile of rocks and converges into a deep channel on the left which throws up some really fun waves. The entry into this rapid is critical. The best line is right of centre, with steady boatspeed to make sure you keep control if you get a nudge from a rock. This line also allows you to take on the wave train slightly right of centre.
