The official race camping is now at Khotso Lodge & Horse Trails, right at the Trout Hatcheries!
Khotso, the outdoor basecamp in the Southern Drakensberg for you. Just ten minutes outside Underberg, with the Umzimkhulu River running right through Khotso. We are the official Drak Challenge campsite! We absolutely love being the host — this is where everyone meets and enjoys not only the river, but time with friends and family.
Train hard, paddle down the Umzimkhulu River, and refuel with a coffee and treat from Balam River Deck along the way.
Our accommodation options have everything you need. Comfort, function, and relaxation. Self-catering rondavels with fireplaces, private braais, and mountain views. A fully equipped, self-catering Log Cabin sleeping groups of up to 20. A lodge where people gather, and stories are shared. Campsites along the stream with braai areas and mountain views.
